It is fascinating that rumours still persist to this current day, that the Stone of Destiny returned to Westminster was a fake, that it was not the original one stolen by the Scottish Nationalists, and that it was concealed in a safe place somewhere awaiting the time for the Biblical prophecies to come to fruition.
When Edwards I, took the Stone of Destiny from the Scots in 1296 AD, it created such a feeling of hostility towards the English Crown that serious repercussions created a chain of events that, to this day, are still remembered by the Scots.
The Stone of Destiny was returned to Scotland by Queen Elizabeth in 1996, and it si on display at Edinburgh castle. Unfortunately, neither David nor I were aware of where it was being displayed when we visited Ediburgh. I knew it had been returned to Scotland but I naturally thought it would have been returned to Scone, from whence it was stolen. The mystery thus remains, was it the real Stone of Destiny? Or is the real one 'resting' until the time is ripe from its location to be revealed?
